Get your Halloween Groove on - carve a virtual pumpkin!

Are you sick of having to gut out a pumpkin and then carve it - only to see it rot? Well - you can get your pumkin carving groove on by carving a virtual pumpkin. Of course, if you want to have something on your porch for trick-or-treaters you will need to have a laptop or something, but I’m guessing if you cared about those people you would have gutted a pumpkin by now.

Carve your virtual pumpkin here

Thanks Marla

Happy Halloween!!! Images of Pumpkins

It’s halloween! Yippee! Here are some halloween-inspired images to get you in the proper holiday spirit.

Canibal pumpkin
Careful where you leave your little pumpkins!

Don’t sit in front of a drunk pumkin!

Suicide pumpkin
When pumpkins see their grim future, some decide to end it while they still can

Of course, then there is the scariest pumpkin of them all… (more…)

Things you can miss: Smash My Ipod video

In case you hadn’t heard, some Canadian decided to make a website devoted to destroying an iPod. He sought out donations from people over the internet with the promise that once he reached $400 he would go buy an iPod and then smash it in the store.
Well… He raised the money, bought the iPod, and smashed it. The video has now been released. In case you were thinking of going to go watch it, however, you should think again.

Don’t click on that link. It’s not worth your time

The video is 10 minutes long. The first five-and-a-half minutes are him buying the stupid thing. (Maybe if you have never experienced purchasing an item in a retail store, this part would be interesting. For the rest of us - it’s boring.) (more…)

Stupid Test: What flavor Ben & Jerry’s are you?

CHERRY GARCIA!
You scored 74% SWEET, 48% CHUNKY, and 62% UNIQUE!
cherry sweet cream base with cherries and fudge chunks

Awesome…you are one of my personal favs: Cherry Garcia. You fall in the middle on all measurements- sweet, wild, and unique, but not overwhelmingly so on any of those. You make a good friend, able to share your unique perspectives on things, and able to have fun without winding up in jail or something. Good job.

Wow - this test must be accurate. For years, I was thinking that if I were a Ben & Jerry’s flavor that I would be Cherry Garcia. Now I have scientific proof that is correct!

BYU shoots down Air Force - 62 41

This is the referee who officiated the game versus Air Force
Despite the best efforts of the referee (see the picture here) - BYU shot down Air Force 62 to 41. The referee tried to help turn the tide in the game by liberally assigning penalties against BYU.

BYU was destroying Air Force until they rallied late and came back to score a few points. The secondary had some holes, and special teams was weak at times. But - Fisher DeBerry’s worst nightmare to defend against - the speedy “Afro American” - managed to run the ball down his throat. Curtis Brown had over 200 yards, and non-black (but still brown) Fahu Tahi steamrolled his way down the field as well. BYU had 683 total yards, 383 of it through the air and 300 on the ground.

BYU now faces UNLV next week. UNLV is coming off of a bye week.

[More in depth recap of the game is at ESPN.com]

The car of the future has no side-view mirrors

A center dashboard panel with multiple image views would eliminate having to look left, up, and right to see what’s going on behind you.

The other alternative is to buy a large van. That also eliminates the need to look left, up, and right to see what’s going on behind you. Just turn your blinker on a second before you want to turn, flinch that direction - and then a half-second later go for it. I’ve never had any problems using this approach. (Note to insurance agent: I’m kidding. Note to people driving next to me: No I’m not)

Ah… the car of the future…

Caption Contest: Teli Tubbies Frat Party?

I hope none of these guys ever decide to run for office. Actually, I take that back. That would make for some funny TV commercials.

Sticking with the theme of Tali/Teli-tubbies, here is this weeks caption contest. Enjoy. Be creative. I’ve not yet picked a winner from last week - but will shortly. I’ll post it here when I do.

Best use of dog yet: Yoda Dog

“Good relations with the Wookies, I have”

On 20/20 tonight I saw a clip that had a pug dressed like Yoda. I had to pause it and laugh for a while. Of course I had to spend a half-hour scouring every corner of the web until I could find this one. I think every pug should come with this halloween costume installed already.

Tali-Tubby: Where Osama is REALLY hiding

Okay. It’s late. I just got done solving how a ball on a stick with a spring on one end will oscillate. (If you can think of some way to use a spring, chances are I’ve had to solve a problem doing that.)

While looking for stuff for the caption contest, I found this image at this site
