Music mocumentary “Sons of Provo” - a PG rated tale describing the rise of three mormon boys who form a boy-band is being sold in tons of LDS bookstores across the country. To one family in St. George, they were more than surprised when they popped their DVD in the player and instead saw a movie called “Adored” - an unrated independent film about a Gay porn star. Woops.
“When my friends told me, ‘Oh, don’t watch that, it’s really gay’, I should have listened to them!”
Says N. Obody, member of the St. George family
Halestorm Entertainment, makers of “Sons of Provo” had this to say:
“Well, we are not sure how widespread this is. Most people who are buying it, are buying it as a gift. Most people receiving it have the common sense not to watch it after reading the cover. This is the first known case of someone actually opening their copy.”
Gay rights groups are also up in arms about the story.
“The fact that right now someone in the gay community could be unknowingly exposed to bad Mormon filmmaking is outrageous. We are meeting with the ACLU and filing pre-emptive charges against everyone involved in the case.”

In a followup article, the Universe published: Halestorm will now give $100 to anyone who finds this gay porn and will trade it in to them for a real “Sons of Provo.” Yes, that means you actually have to pop it in the DVD player and make sure it isn’t the gay porn.
