Today is Apple’s big day. They will be announcing something (Likely new iPods and some speedbumps for PowerMacs). Earlier, there was a lot of speculation that this would be the day that Apple announced a video iPod or a video-on-demand service. These ideas were shot down because Steve Jobs claims that video-on-demand is not a proven market. (Think about it: downloading a movie over a broadband connection takes several hours. It would be like driving to the state-line to go to blockbuster.) There may be a market for smaller videos, such as TV shows to be downloaded and played remotely.

Still, Netflix might be “in trouble” because of broadband users.

Its founder doesn’t dispute the notion that before long, many people will begin watching movies at home over broadband.

Please define “long.” The rest of the article talks more about NetFlix, which is an interesting read if you are interested in NetFlix and transitioning business plans.
