Some local Blockbuster franchises have brought back late fees. The response of consumers: “Yipee!” When Blockbuster removed late-fees, some people became “movie hogs” and would take out a bunch of new releases and then never return them.
The village idiot in one location reported:
You could see people leaving Blockbuster with an armful of movies instead of just one or two
The biggest problem was that the movies were never there when people went to go and rent them. Having had a movie pass this summer I can tell you that is a big problem. (That, and the fact that the movie pass is only good at one location - which is another issue entirely)
Some Blockbusters seem to just now be answering the question that we all asked on the day announced the no-late-fee policy: “What makes someone return it on time then?” And the answer is: “Nothing.”

I totally agree, I hate Block Buster. I use Netflix, and have never turned back. Block Buster is so sneeky, like after like two weeks, they make you buy the movie.

Count me as one of the movie hogs. Guess I better start getting my act together.
Anyhow, stopping by. Hope the Blog Explosion ad campaign is successful.
