Play tricks on your eyes!

Here is an interesting example of the concept of an “after image.” Your eyes have a “refresh rate” that sometimes leaves behind after images. The after-image color is always the complementary color of the original color. We spent a few days playing around with this concept in my color theory class my freshman year. Here is one of the more interesting demonstrations of this concept that I have seen.
After image demonstration
Focus on the center “+”. In your periphery vision, you will notice that a green dot appears whenever the pink dot disappears. Now, keep focusing on that center “+” and eventually all of the pink dots disappear and you see a green dot circling around.

If you move your focus back to the dots, you will realize that this was just an illusion - the pink dots are all still there (Except for the rotating “lack of pink dot”).

Aubrey is Pregnant

Although she’s not quite showing yet, Aubrey is pregnant. We’ve known this for a little while but were waiting until we went to an actual doctor to confirm it. (Also, I hear you are supposed to wait to tell people until after the first Trimester.) Whatever the case, she should be having her baby in the beginning of June - roughly around June 13th. If you want to start a betting pool on the exact day, that’s fine - just be sure to cut us in for half of it :)
Although we don’t know the gender yet - I’ve started stocking up on old socks and things I can stich together into little baby “hobo suits” for him/her. (Kids clothes are expensive these days!).
If our baby is the opposite gender of either Paul & Larissa Cuff’s recent child or Pace and Joy’s soon-to-be-born baby I’ll go ahead and propose an arranged marriage now.

I’m going to Chicago today

I’m going to Chicago to interview with Sears for a position in their Management Trainee program tomorrow. I guess their interviews are pretty thorough, because I’m checking out of the hotel at 6:30 AM and then interviewing from 7:00AM to 4:10 PM. I will be flying back tomorrow night.
I’ve not been posting much information about my job hunt online, but since this one will prevent me from posting to my blog for a while I figured I would explain it to you.

Here are interseting tidbits about Sears for you. They have 873 full-line stores, each averaging 91,000 square feet. They average $200+ per square foot in sales. (You do the math). They had offices in the Sears tower until 1995 when they completed their move over to a new office complex in Hoffman Estates, IL - close to Chicago.
