Last night I flew into Chicago and was picked up at the airport in a white stretched limo and driven to my hotel. I shared the limo with three other people who arrived at the same time that I did - two of them were also BYU students. The third - Shyam - was an Indian student currently attending Rutgers university. We were all hungry, so once we checked into the Mariott Courtyard, we went to eat dinner. One thing I noticed about the part of Chicago we were in is that there was no such thing as sidewalks or crosswalks. Fortunately, traffic wasn’t bad - but it still felt a little strange running across six lanes of roads with no kind of crosswalk or sidewalk in sight. After eating at a restaurant at the nearby Holiday Inn, we went back and I went in bed and watched TV.
Today was a long day. I woke up at 5:45 (Chicago time) - and got ready. I boarded a bus along with 34 other interview candidates and went to the Sears headquarters in Hoffman Estates. While there, I had two interviews, an anti-sociopath test, and a handful of presentations and Q&A sessions. My overall impression of Sears was very positive after talking to everyone there. I’ll post more details tomorrow.
