A man caught a mouse, and threw it in the fire to dispose of it. Problem solved, right? Not with this mouse. The mouse decided to return the favor to the man.
“I had some leaves burning outside, so I threw it in the fire, and the mouse was on fire and ran back at the house”
The mouse settled itself down in a corner – and soon flames spread up the wall. Fire quickly consumed the entire house.
Village Fire Department Capt. Jim Lyssy had this to say:
“I’ve seen numerous house fires, but nothing as unique as this one.”
The moral of this story: Whack the mouse before you burn it.
