Candian Outfits

Canadian Olympic Outfits for Torino

As promised, here are some images to make the Americans in the room feel better about us looking so dumb this Olympics season.

If you look closely, you will notice that their gloves have little maple-leafs embroidered in the palms. I guess the GIGANTIC maple leaf on the side of their jackets wasn’t enough. Oh, and in case you still didn’t know where they were from – it says “CANADA” really big on their right hip. Forget the year? It says that really big on the other hip.

The “Cousin-Eddy” hats make an interesting fashion statement on their own, but combined with the rest of their get-up, they are icing on the top of a very odd-looking cake.

These outfits were designed by a Canadian company known as “HBC.” I don’t really think that McGowan can comment much on Canada trying to get back at us for jokes this time…

Although you have tried to find a picture to my comments made on you American roots comment, I think you missed the mark. I know that these clothes are not the best but they are still not anywhere near as bad as the Americans. Much Love Ryan

  2. Ryan, I musut agree with your post. The Canadians (including McGowan) don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to making fun of our ROOTS outfit, (granted it is bad, but the Canadians are just as…if not worse.)

My only suggestion is that in your post I think you got the hips wrong: it says canada over their left hip, and the year over their right. (minor detail)

As a native of Nova Scotia living here in New York City I was aghast, embarrassed and horrified.. I had to miss most of the opening but arrived home for the lighting of the torch. When The Great One is looking overdressed and awkward with a fat bum, you know something is wrong. Reminded me of the old Dennis the Menace cartoon of Dennis outside on a snowy day all bundled up in the huge snowsuit saying to his mother: “Now that I’m out here, how do you expect me to play?”
