Is it really that boring or such a waste of time just sitting there that knitting and other crafts are necessary? Maybe I'm missing something and knitting does actually help them listen, but I know for me that I have a hard time looking up scriptures with two needles and a bunch of yarn in my hands. Still, since they are doing it anyway, I think you should definitely ask someone at church to make you these, because I know most dresses would benefit from the look of a sweater under them.
