What do you do with 13,482 rare comic books - dating back to 1966? Well - some comic book shop bought such a collection (perhaps at an estate sale? I can’t imagine someone spending their entire life collecting this junk just up-and-selling-it) and now they are peddling it on eBay.

As you look over the vast collection of comic books listed there - just imagine the number of interesting discussions his wife would have had with him over this collection… Such as “Is there a way we can avoid taking up 1500 square feet of our house with stacks of comic books?” or his ocassional question of: “Honey - have you seen Charlton Horror #21? I thought I put it down right next to Dr. Skector #3… but I can’t fid it. I can only find Wolverine #4…” And imagine his rage when she responds “Oh, I thought you were done with that one, I put it in the recycling bin.”

You can view the Obscene collection of comic books on eBay…

It just barely ended, and the reserve wasn’t met. It was only bid up to $26,000 - and the “Guide Value” is $86,000… For those not familiar with eBay’s policies - if you list something with a reserve, you pay a big fee if the item doesn’t sell. The fee is based on the reserve price. So, this guy is out at least a few hundred bucks now just for his listing fee.
