This is a natural reflex which should vanish about 6months after the baby was born. If the reflex is very strong or doesn´t vanish after 6 months it could mean that your child has difficulties to achieve further postural control. If you are in doubt please contact a pediatric doctor or a specialized physiotherapist (e.g. Bobath therapy).
