I don’t even want to consider what the PayPal fees on this thing will be – but right now a 225 – acre Island is on sale on eBay. The island is part of the Fiji archipelligo, and is surrounded by a huge lagoon.

The island is valued at approximately $25 million – and apparently will be worth $40 million if someone finishes the resort that is being built on it.

From the pictures at the bottom, I learn two things. First – the roofs of the existing structures likely leak. Second – the island has been abandoned.

I was about to put in a $15 million bid, but Aubrey pointed out something important: The internet service there would probably be slow. That – I’m afraid – is a deal breaker for me.

Here’s the scenario. You spot an auction you absolutely must have – but the only problem is… it ends in 5 days. Sure, you could use auction sniper, or an alarm clock to remind you to bid – but a Laptop equipped with WiFi, a few banana peels, and a long straight-away could combine to get you to the exact moment in time to snipe the item. Once you place your bid, you can just go back in time and forget about the item.

Other than that, why would you ever want to time travel?

The eBay listing is certainly worth a look.

Oh – and to everybody searching for eBay / PayPal Codes for May / June… There aren’t any that I’ve been able to find. They don’t constantly have them out… they only have codes for certain months of the year. (After all, this is PayPal we are talking about!)

The business man who bought it has no plans of ever flying the thing. He will use it as a showpiece.

As you look over the vast collection of comic books listed there – just imagine the number of interesting discussions his wife would have had with him over this collection… Such as “Is there a way we can avoid taking up 1500 square feet of our house with stacks of comic books?” or his ocassional question of: “Honey – have you seen Charlton Horror #21? I thought I put it down right next to Dr. Skector #3… but I can’t fid it. I can only find Wolverine #4…” And imagine his rage when she responds “Oh, I thought you were done with that one, I put it in the recycling bin.”

It just barely ended, and the reserve wasn’t met. It was only bid up to $26,000 – and the “Guide Value” is $86,000… For those not familiar with eBay’s policies – if you list something with a reserve, you pay a big fee if the item doesn’t sell. The fee is based on the reserve price. So, this guy is out at least a few hundred bucks now just for his listing fee.

There are lots of pictures of this collection. If you have some extra cash on hand, the current bid is only around $6000… (which from the looks of it is about $10 per GI-JOE related item… so it’s a pretty good deal!)

I don’t know about you, but the special plexiglass case with the evil containment field might be worth the price by itself. Just spend the $2 and use the case to store your Microsoft install CD’s or something.

Sure, he says that he will donate 10% of the proceeds to some 9/11 children’s fund – but I doubt that children’s fund will pay 10% of the $$$ that eBay will take from him when the item doesn’t sell. (The listing fee is determined by your initial price… this listing probably cost him over a hundred dollars)

I emailed him and asked him if he had it in Strawberry. Raisin just isn’t work $100 grand to me… but Strawberry… Yeah, I’d take out a mortgage for that.

This is freaky. I don’t know what child has ever said to his parents: “I want to be a flying monkey from the Wizard of Oz for Halloween!” and I don’t know what parent would ever go out and buy their child this costume. Where would you find such a costume in the first place? Why eBay of course!

The world’s largest pepermill is up for auction on eBay.

Unveiled on October 8, 2005 in Erin, Ontario, Canada. Made from solid maple, stained and finished, with a custom built turning/grinding mechanism. It stands at 13 feet 5-3/4 inches tall, has a diameter at it’s largest width of 11 inches, and weighs 268 lbs.

As you probably already know, this new world record pepper mill has beaten the old world record by 11-3/4 inches.
